Time to Capy-Party Birthday Card with Lawn Fawn!

Today, I was inspired by Lawn Fawn’s Fun with Food Challenge for this adorable birthday card! I couldn’t resist these precious capybaras and loved getting creative with the layout of this scene!

For this card, I started by stamping the capybaras, birthday treats, and their little friends from the Capybaras! and Capybaras! Add-On stamp sets from Lawn Fawn. Because I like to color with alcohol markers, I always clear emboss my stamped images to keep the ink from running.

A birthday card with a green paper background with stenciled pennants. Capybaras drawn in a cutesy style perch on the pennant strings with party hats and birthday cake. The sentiment reads "Have a very capy birthday!" in rose gold lettering.

I cut them out with the coordinating dies, then glued on the capybara’s accessories, from tiny party hats, to a tasty orange, to a sweet baby sleeping on another’s back!

For the card panel, I chose a green that contrasted well with the warm brown of the capybara fur, then used the Bunting Background Stencils from Lawn Fawn to create a party-ready background of bunting flags and colorful starbursts.

A closer view of the capybara birthday card, cropped to focus on the capybaras and their cakes. Scattered between the pennants are dots of holographic glitter glue.

Taking some creative liberties, I decided to perch the capybaras and friends along the strings of the button for a whimsical layout. I added dots of holographic glitter glue as a finishing touch, and I love the final result!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card! For more projects like this, check out my blog and my Instagram . Thanks for stopping by!
